Credits and how they work
Credits are the unit of shopper response in ProductPinion. Use this page to understand your credit balances, estimate how many shoppers you need, and collect responses from your own audience.
| Balance | Spent by |
|---|---|
| Pinion Poll credits | Pinion Polls, Pinion Ask, and Custom Audience screening |
| Pinion Video credits | Pinion Videos |
| AI credits | AI analysis and the design tools |
One credit buys one shopper response. Unused credits roll over from month to month.
Custom Audience screening spends one credit for every shopper surveyed, including shoppers who do not qualify. If you are screening for a narrow group, budget for at least 500 shoppers to land enough qualified responses.
How many shoppers do I need?
The number of shoppers you need depends on how different your options are. Use these guidelines when planning a test:
- Get at least 50 shoppers per option. Two options require 100 shoppers.
- Add shoppers as you add options. Do not split the same sample across more options.
- If your certainty figure is under 75%, add more shoppers before redesigning the test. The result may be real but under-sampled.
When your certainty figure is under 75%, add more shoppers rather than redesigning the test. You can often confirm the result with a larger sample.
You can add shoppers to a completed test with the same demographics by selecting Add more results.
Using your own audience
Brand and Agency plans let you run a test against your own customers instead of ProductPinion shoppers. Select Ask your audience to generate a public link, then email the link to your customers or post it where your audience can access it.
Responses from your own audience are free. ProductPinion tags these responses separately in the results so you can compare your customers' responses with responses from ProductPinion shoppers.
