Pinion Ask
Ask shoppers open-ended and structured survey questions about your product or listing, including pricing, comprehension, first impressions, and recall.
Pinion Ask
A Pinion Ask is a survey rather than a head-to-head. Use it when the answer isn't "which of these": what someone would pay, whether they understood the product, or what they remember after a glance.
It follows the same four steps as a Pinion Poll and draws on the same Pinion Poll credits.
Question types
Pinion Ask supports ten question types:
| Type | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Short Answer | Open-ended reactions in the shopper's own words |
| Single Answer | One choice from a list |
| Multiple Answer | Several choices from a list |
| Dropdown | One choice from a long list |
| Price | What someone would expect to pay |
| Price Sensitivity | Where the price stops feeling reasonable |
| 3 second test | What a shopper recalls after a three-second glance |
| Listing Battle | Your listing against up to two others |
| Skimmer | What gets noticed when someone skims rather than reads |
| Blur Test | What still reads when the detail is stripped out |
The 3 second test and Blur Test are the two worth knowing about: both approximate how little attention a real shopper gives you, and both tend to be humbling.
This page is a draft. The wizard walkthrough is written; the question-type reference needs a pass to confirm which types are generally available and which are enabled per account.
