Objection Test

Watch shoppers browse your Amazon listing on video, collect the objections that stop them buying, and turn the top recurring ones into a prioritised testing roadmap.

Objection Test

Understand why shoppers are not buying your products and exactly what to do to fix it.

The question this answers

Find out why shoppers are not buying and how to fix it

What shoppers are asked

Shoppers see your options and are asked to pick one and explain why:

Pretend you're in the market for the following product. You'll be looking at an Amazon listing and answering questions about it.

They then answer these out loud on camera:

  1. Pretend you're shopping for yourself. Walk me through what you're thinking as you look at the listing images and description.
  2. Based on the listing images and description, what makes you hesitate, feel unsure, or decide not to buy? Explain why.
  3. Do you trust the brand? Why or why not?

How to set it up

This section is a stub. Write the step-by-step setup, what a good variation looks like, and how to read the result, then change status: seed to status: published in the front matter.

How to read the result

You're collecting objections, ranked by how often they recur. Write each one down verbatim as you watch. By the fifth video the list stops growing, and what you have is a prioritised roadmap rather than a set of opinions.

The top two or three are your next quarter of testing. Anything mentioned once is noise; anything mentioned by three independent shoppers is real and is costing you sales right now.

Watch the pauses, not just the words. Shoppers hesitate before they can articulate why. A long silence on a particular image usually marks a confusion they never quite verbalise. That's often the most valuable moment in the recording.

Separate trust objections from product objections. "I don't know this brand" and "I don't think it'll fit" need completely different fixes.

What to do next

Turn the top objection into something you can measure:

If objections were mostly about the brand itself, a Brand Name Test is worth running before you commit further.
